Closing special interest tax loopholes
Jeff will work hard for the repeal of special interest tax loopholes such as the carried interest loophole, which enables favorable tax rates for those in the financial services industry (that give PAC and lobbyist money to maintain the status quo). This is a partial reason why we do not have the money to adequately fund social programs, such as rebuilding and adequately maintaining and repairing NYCHA.
We must work to end laws that are “good for some, bad for all,” and corporate welfare for the purpose of boosting shareholder profits at the expense of everyone else is a prime example. We must end subsidies to the fossil fuel industry and other big businesses, and invest in a bottom-up economy rather than a fictitious “trickle-down” economy.
