The federal minimum wage should be doubled from its current $7.25/hr. to at least a living wage of $15 per hour. If it were linked to inflation, as it should be, then the minimum wage would be closer to $23 per hour. Exceptions to this rule can be made for truly small businesses (mom and pops), since many cannot afford such a wage, especially if they give their workers a piece of ownership in the small business.
We can expand Medicare to Medicare for All and this will help workers. Together with UBI, everyone should have a living wage with enough to lead a dignified life and save for a better future. Now it seems we live in an economy opposite to this, which perhaps is a result of big corporate PACs financing our incumbent politicians.
Jeff supports unions and workers’ right to unionize. However, Jeff does not understand why unions give to politicians like the NY-7 incumbent who also takes big corporate PAC money. This seems to be a waste of money. Democratic candidates that claim to be progressives for the people should not be double dipping. Let the Republicans represent the interests of capital and let the Democrats be the party of the people and workers.
