We have damaged our planet and must work hard to correct the damage and stop further damage. We can be sensitive to people who work in industries that have caused the most harm, but we are all responsible. We should therefore fund investments in wind, solar and other green technology and hope the damage is correctable. The profitable oil industry that finances our elections should be taxed more and other safe power sources must be embraced. We owe it to ourselves to invest in science to help our planet.
We must also consider taxing plastic cups, straws and containers as they are ending up in our Oceans, creating destruction to marine life. To think that the fish are eating the plastic and then we are eating the fish, means that we are eating our own plastic garbage. Jeff will support policies to reduce, re-use and recycle so that we can leave the Earth a better place than we found it.
Jeff will fight for federal funds to improve our infrastructure for bicycles, such as creating more bike lanes and paths, as well as retrofitting the Verrazzano Bridge with a bike lane.
Jeff is proud to have taken the #NoFossilFuelMoney pledge and work as your Congressman to help protect our environment for future generations.
