New York needs to be more ambitious with infrastructure projects to improve the quality of life for all of us. This includes expanding and improving our subway, but also creating new bike paths and investing in green transportation options.
The NY-7 incumbent should be bringing home federal funds to New York City to expand and rebuild our subway. With the L train closing, millions of people are going to be inconvenienced. The subway currently has delays and paint chips falling from the ceiling. Once the pride of our city, now it is a disgrace. We need to invest billions in our public trains and subways and move away from the automobile culture.
Ideally we could put the J, Z and M trains underground and use the elevated platforms for new parks and trees. Also, we could put the entire BQE under-ground so as to better connect our communities and reduce pollution.
